You are Loved Beyond Measure

635-i-love-you-in-pencilYou are loved beyond measure. You are loved unconditionally. You are loved wholly. Do you know these things? Do you believe these things? They are true. When God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it He also created Adam and upon reflection of all that He had created He saw that all was good except for one thing. Man was alone. Adam, created in the image of God, was alone. So what did God do? He caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and He removed a rib from his side and created Eve from it. Adam was created from earth, he was formed, but Eve was created from Adam. She was created by design with beauty and was designed to complement Adam, not in the manner of telling him how good he is, but she was his counterpart. Where he fell short she was designed to strengthen him. They were designed to operate as one, just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and as such they completed each other with God as the unifier between them.

You were created just as Adam and Eve were created. Scripture tells us that even the number of hairs on your head have been counted and that God will take care of us (Mt. 10:30-31). God created each of us with passions, desires, and talents. He created us to fulfill those God given desires. It is true that Satan likes to swoop in with his demons to cause havoc in our lives by luring us with false truths, but God is always right there waiting for our response.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is that of the prodigal son who after leaving home with all of his inheritance squanders it and finds himself without food, clothing, or shelter. Upon looking at his father’s servants he sees that they have food to spare so he turns from the path that he was on and returned home. His father saw him returning from a distance and immediately he ran toward his son and greeted him and welcomed him back home and celebrated his return by throwing a huge party.

This story represents God’s heart toward us. This story represents God’s heart toward you. He longs for each of us to come home and to live under His roof. When we live under God’s roof he provides protection for us, he provides provision for us, he fulfils us and encourages us to follow the passions that He gave us. You see God wants us to use our lives to show his glory to others. He wants to use us to show his love to a hurting world. We don’t have to have all the right answers or live the perfect life, but we do have to be honest and allow the world to see who we really are.

God wants to make you whole, but the only way to be whole is to fully embrace who He is and place your life at his feet. There is nothing that you have done can keep you from God unless you let it. He wants you just as you are and then in an environment of love and encouragement he will strengthen you and grow you into what you were intended to be. He will guide your path one step at a time and will show you just how loved you are.

You see God wants you. He wants all of you, the good and the bad. We have all sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Rom. 3:23) but he wants us anyway. The only thing we have to do is to turn to him, just as the prodigal son. Will you turn to Him? Are there areas in your life in which you need to trust God in? God is waiting to lavish you with His love. If you don’t believe me I challenge you to just ask God to show you His love. Simply pray this, Father I am not sure if you want me or if I even need you, but God I long to know what true love is. Will you show me what it means to be truly loved and cared for this week? Will you show me who you really are and all that I have been missing? Lord, come into my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

How is your walk with God going today?
