Our Lord’s Prayer (Mt. 6:9-13)

Here is a little encouragement for you all today to remember how Jesus taught us to pray. In bold is the Lord’s prayer that most of us know and following each bolded headline is an example of what our prayers might look like today in resemblance of how we were taught to pray. I thank God for you and pray that you will have a blessed day.

Our Father in heaven,
Great God on High who watches over us
Hallowed be your name,
(Worship of God)
We praise your precious name, you are so worthy of all our praise.
your Kingdom come,
(The Supremacy of God)
Fill me to overflowing with your love and the power of your goodness,
your will be done
(Our yielding to God)
use me in any way that you see fit to accomplish your Holy will.
on earth as it is in heaven.
Just as your mercy and powerful love reign in heaven let it be the same here on earth.
Give us this day our daily bread.
(Request for daily provision)
You are the provider of all that we need and we shall never be in want,
we trust you that we will always have enough,
just as you supplied the Israelite’s with their daily need when you gave them manna from heaven,
so teach us to rely on you and trust in you fully in each day of our walk.
Forgive us our debts,
(Request for cleansing of our sin)
Father, we are sinners, we are dead without you, and we need your forgiveness.
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Just as we have been forgiven we will do our very best to forgive all of those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
(Request for daily guidance)
Protect us God from the attacks and schemes of Satan,
help us to see the temptations of the enemy and lead us away from them.
but deliver us from the evil one.
(Request for daily protection)
Protect us from Satan’s subtle attacks that are all around us,
and deliver us so that we may bring all glory and honor to you Lord.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
